How to compare wholesale prices and delivery costs on Merkato Pro

A useful wholesale comparison starts with the full order, not just the first price you see. Two offers can differ in model, pack size, minimum quantity or delivery arrangements. This checklist helps you compare them on Merkato Pro before you confirm a purchase.

Compare the same item and unit

Check the product name, brand, model and specifications. For accessories, a difference in connector, capacity, size or compatibility can matter more than a small price difference. Use photos alongside the written details; a photograph alone may not show the exact variant you need.

Next, establish what one unit means. A price for one piece cannot be compared directly with a price for a pack. If the pack size is unclear, confirm it before ordering. Divide the pack cost by its number of pieces only when that quantity is known.

Check the minimum order against your buying list

A supplier offer may require a minimum quantity. Check whether that quantity fits your actual restocking needs. Ordering more than you can use or sell ties up money and storage space, even when the per-piece price is lower.

If a quantity discount is shown, check the threshold and the resulting total in your cart. Compare the quantity you need with the larger order you are considering. Do not assume that a discount applies to every supplier or product.

Include the applicable delivery fee

Merkato Pro shows delivery-fee information as part of the shopping flow. Review the fee for your selected products and the final total. Ask for clarification if you are unsure whether a displayed amount includes delivery. Use the checkout summary for the actual order instead of adding an estimated fee twice.

For a simple illustration, imagine 10 identical items at ETB 100 each and a total delivery charge of ETB 100. The total is ETB 1,100, or ETB 110 per item. Another offer at ETB 105 per item with a total delivery charge of ETB 20 comes to ETB 1,070, or ETB 107 per item. These are hypothetical figures, not current Merkato Pro prices or a description of how every delivery fee is calculated.

Compare pickup only when it is available

Pickup may be an option for some orders. Check the available location and collection instructions before selecting it. Include your own time and transport when deciding whether pickup suits you better than delivery.

Do not assume a product can be collected from every pickup shop. Confirm the option shown for the items in your order, and follow the recorded order status before arranging collection.

Make one final check before confirming

Review the supplier, product variant, quantity, minimum order, applicable fees and address together. Prices and availability can change, and the platform checks the order when it is submitted. If something has changed, review the updated amount before proceeding.

Keep your order record so you can compare the confirmed items with what arrives. For questions about a particular order, use its details when speaking to customer service. A precise product name and order reference are more useful than a screenshot of an unrelated offer.
